A trigger lock is a mechanism that is placed over the firearm’s trigger to disable fire. It has a lock like a key, number code or fingerprint reader. Here are some helpful tips for using a trigger lock:
1. Practice safe firearm handling:
a. Always keep the firearm pointed in a safe direction
b. Keep your finger off the trigger and engage the safety switch
c. Confirm the firearm is unloaded
d. Store ammunition separately
2. Unlock the device and pull apart the two sides of the lock.
3. Place the front lock unit with the rachet post through the trigger guard, behind the trigger.
4. Place the rear unit with the outside edges of both units matching.
5. Press the two units together. Make sure the lock is tight and cannot be moved after it’s installed.
